Are These Judges Too Slow? New Data and Nuances
In the New Jersey Law Journal article, "Are These Judges Too Slow? New Data and Nuances," litigation partner Kerri Chewning provides her thoughts on the complaints New Jersey federal judges receive regarding the long time it takes to issue rulings on motions. A former president of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey, Kerri said she has not had “a significant number” of motions take longer than six months to be decided, though her colleagues have at times talked about their long-pending motions. In looking at the details of various cases where that may have happened, Kerri thinks that sometimes it's a bit of a perception problem.

Kerri Chewning Reappointed to Federal Court Advisory Committee
Archer partner, Kerri E. Chewning, has been reappointed to the Lawyers Advisory Committee of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. Kerri has served as a Committee member since 2010. She was reappointed by Chief U.S. District Judge Renée Marie Bumb to another one-year term running through January 31, 2025.

Kerri Chewning Serves as Co-Editor and an Author for New Jersey Law Journal Publication
Archer partner Kerri E. Chewning served as co-editor for the recently published, New Jersey Federal Civil Procedure, an annual publication of the New Jersey Law Journal. This is the 9th year Kerri worked as a co-editor for the publication. Along with her distinction as co-editor, Kerri also authored the chapter on “Complaints” and has done so for the past 13 years.
