Overview
John concentrates his practice on corporate law. He counsels clients in a variety of areas such as regulatory compliance, medical device regulation, commercial litigation, and data privacy and cybersecurity. His clients range from closely-held and emerging growth companies, to large national and international privately and publicly-held companies. John is also a highly experienced Intellectual Property attorney. He has counseled medical device and biotech companies on various matters.
John handles a broad range of transactional matters, including asset and stock purchase agreements, licensing agreements, employment agreements, consulting agreements, master service agreements, SaaS agreements, and healthcare-related agreements such as sponsored research and clinical trial agreements.
John’s intellectual property experience includes Patent and Trademark prosecution, IP litigation, IP portfolio management and IP licensing. He works with clients in forming and executing IP strategies that focus on developing IP that truly increases value. Instead of viewing IP in a vacuum, John stresses viewing a client’s IP from the standpoint of the competitive advantage it can afford the client in the marketplace.
John is registered to practice in the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is also a certified information privacy professional by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP/US).
John has both private practice and in-house experience gained at top law firms and companies. Prior to joining Archer, John was a partner and founder of Finch Paolino LLC, a business and IP law services firm. John’s in-house roles have included serving as General Counsel, Associate General Counsel and Chief IP Counsel.
