Daniel S. Chertok

Daniel is an experienced attorney with a multifaceted practice concentrated in real estate development and renewable energy projects. He represents property owners, private companies, non-profits, and government agencies in connection with their commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, easements, leasing, financing, and joint ventures. Daniel regularly advises clients in practical, business-oriented solutions, with the skills to handle the legal, strategic, and operational challenges presented by the real estate and alternative energy markets. He works diligently with his clients to develop and negotiate terms and structures that align with their interests, uniting the various parties and stakeholders in each transaction to negotiate deals that are mutually beneficial for each party.

Drawing on his experience representing developers in connection with some of the largest development projects in New York City, Daniel also serves as construction counsel on a broad spectrum of projects. This includes drafting and negotiating various construction agreements and development documents, including construction management agreements (such as GMP and design-build agreements), design professional agreements, development management, project management agreements, access agreements, consulting agreements and other commercial contracts. He advises and represents owners and developers on the timely resolution of construction disputes and claims during construction and collaborates closely with the firm’s litigation group when formal dispute resolution becomes necessary to protect client interests.

Before joining Archer, Daniel served as an associate in the construction practice of an Am Law 100 law firm and as in-house counsel for a real estate developer based in New York City. During his tenure at Brooklyn Law School, he interned for Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation during a period of major expansion, with $700 million in new development.
