Archer Partner, Andrew Cevasco, recently argued before the New Jersey Supreme Court where he represented the Bergen County Bar Association and is quoted in the Courthouse News article, "Top NJ Court Tackles Trend of Lawyers Name as Ad Keywords" published November 10, 2020. Cevasco says, "When looking for an attorney, they have to scroll through dozens of advertisements to find the website of that attorney,” and “That’s impeding their searches, that’s misdirecting them, that’s misleading them. It’s dishonest, it’s deceitful.”

Andrew Cevasco Named BCBA’s 2024 Professional Lawyer of the Year
Archer partner, Andrew J. Cevasco, has been selected by the Bergen County Bar Association (“BCBA”) as a recipient of a 2024 Professional Lawyer of the Year Award. Professionalism Awards are presented in cooperation with the New Jersey State Bar Association, the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law, and the various county and affinity bar associations. The awards are presented annually to lawyers selected by bar associations across New Jersey who, by virtue of their exemplary conduct, competence, diligence and demeanor, set a positive example for others. The award will be presented to Andrew at the BCBA Professionalism Dinner on October 22 at Seasons in Washington Township, N.J. Andrew served as President of the Bergen County Bar Association for the 2019-2020 term. He has been a member of the BCBA since 1981, and a Trustee and Officer of the Association from 2005-2022. He has also served as member and Co-Chair of its Probate and Estate Planning Committee and its Professionalism Committee. He is currently a co-chair of the Bergen County Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee, which reviews applicants for appointment and reappointment to the Superior Court in Bergen County. Serving as an advocate on behalf of the members of the BCBA, on September 24, 2024 Andrew appeared before the New Jersey Supreme Court, advocating for the reversal of Advisory Committee on Professional Ethics Opinion 735.

Andrew J. Cevasco Installed as President of the Bergen County Bar Association
Archer is pleased to announce that Andrew J. Cevasco has been installed as the 121st President of the Bergen County Bar Association. Mr. Cevasco took office on March 21st, and was sworn in by Hon. Bonnie J. Mizdol, the Assignment Judge of the New Jersey Superior Court, Bergen County. More than 350 members of the Bar Association gathered at the Hasbrouck Heights Hilton in Hasbrouck Heights to confirm Mr. Cevasco’s installation and that of the remaining Officers and Trustees of the Bar Association.

Andrew J. Cevasco Elected Second Vice President of Bergen County Bar Association
Andrew J. Cevasco, a Partner in Archer’s Hackensack office, has recently been installed as Second Vice President of the Bergen County Bar Association (BCBA), now one of the country’s largest county bar associations with over 2,000 members. He currently serves as Co-Chair of the Association’s Professionalism Committee, Co-Chair of the Estate Planning Probate Committee, and is a member of the General Equity Committee.
