Jeffrey M. Gradone

Jeff Gradone concentrates his practice in the areas of local property taxation, redevelopment, and eminent domain proceedings.  Following law school, Jeff clerked for Judge Harold A. Kuskin of the New Jersey Tax Court.  Jeff prosecutes complex property tax appeals in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and other Mid-Atlantic and New England states. He advises clients regarding property tax issues and liabilities, and pursues property tax exemptions, abatements, and other incentives for real estate development projects.  Jeff also handles a variety of complex condemnation matters on behalf of property owners and lenders.

Representative Experience

Litigation involving the appraised valuation of the following property types:

  • Commercial: office, retail, laboratory, research and development, apartments, condominiums, co-ops, hotels, conference centers, corporate headquarters, data centers, switching stations, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, residential care facilities, malls (super-regional to strip malls), bank branches, restaurants, and self storage
  • Industrial: manufacturing, warehouse/distribution, oil refineries, pipelines, steel mills, power plants, industrial headquarters, chemical plants, food processing, oil & LNG terminals, lumber mills, pollution control equipment
  • Special: amusement parks, water parks, ski resorts, vacant land, farmland, wetlands, cell towers, golf courses, contaminated property, residential developments, equalization ratio challenges
